Selçuk, Turkey
Selçuk ended up being one of our favorite places in Turkey. We originally came for Ephesus, but quickly realized there was so much more to this small town than just its famous ancient ruins. From wandering through centuries of history at Ayasuluk Castle and the Basilica of St. John to sharing conversations with locals over a glass of wine, Selçuk felt authentic, welcoming, and refreshingly unhurried. It’s the kind of place where we slowed down, stayed longer than expected, and left wondering why more travelers don’t put it on their itinerary.
New Zealand
New Zealand was always a place I knew was amazing, but it also felt incredibly far away. From where we live, it almost seemed like the kind of destination that lived more in travel magazines and documentaries than in real life. That’s what made finally visiting New Zealand feel so special — it was one of those rare places that somehow managed to live up to everything we had imagined.
Guadalajara, Mexico
Guadalajara surprised us in the best way—we absolutely loved it. As tourists, we felt safe exploring its grand plazas, historic sites, and gorgeous architecture. It’s a place where incredible food, buzzing nightlife, and some of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet all come together, and this guide will help you experience that side of Guadalajara for yourself.
Segovia, Spain
We didn’t expect Segovia to capture us the way it did. From the first glimpse of the aqueduct stretching across the city to the moment we stepped inside the Alcázar, it felt like every corner held something extraordinary. The cathedral’s towering presence and the charm of the old town left us both in awe. More than just a visit, Segovia gave us a memory of Spain we’ll always carry with us.
Sevilla, Spain
Sevilla had us hooked from the start. One minute we were climbing the Giralda tower, the next we were wandering palace gardens that looked like something out of a movie. Add in tapas that kept us coming back for “just one more,” and we were officially in love with this city. Sevilla is one of those places that makes you say, “How soon can we come back?”
Cordoba, Spain
Córdoba pulled us in with its mix of calm courtyards, flower-filled alleys, and that jaw-dropping Mezquita where centuries of history blend under one roof. Wandering the old town with Michelle, every turn felt like a discovery—orange trees, quiet plazas, and shadows of past empires layered into the architecture. It’s a city that feels intimate and alive at the same time, and it left us wanting more the moment we walked away.
Ronda, Spain
Ronda was more than we expected. We kept stopping at every corner because the views didn’t even look real—the Puente Nuevo dropping into that massive gorge, whitewashed homes clinging to the cliffs, and layers of history everywhere from Arab baths to old bullrings. For us, Ronda wasn’t just a stop on our Spain trip—it was one of those rare places that makes you rethink what a small town can feel like.
